Description: For people around the world, land is more than a commodity to be bought and sold, developed and exploited. Land is home, heritage and livelihood. Land is life. Corrupt practices within land administration and management are known simply as Land Corruption and affect 1 in every 5 citizens worldwide. I created this video to explain it for Transparency International. Millions of men and women bear the brunt of political and grand corruption in relation to land: when they are not involved in decision-making on land deals, their land is grabbed, or expropriated, and/or they are inadequately compensated for their land.
